A new project with two kits of the old Revell B17 , produced for more than 20 years and easy to find here in Germany .

I try to keep the fine molded rivets of the skin, so the standard procedure of sheet , putty and sanding seems not the right way . Kit Nr.2 will spend the needed parts for the build .   That needs much time of cutting and sanding too ...

I am into the construction of the Central Drive ( CD , with 4 engines = XCD )  .
Not so easy to decide that design .
I wanna have rear central props with pneumatic transmission from the original engines .

Some of the glass parts give me trouble, they should be glued from the INSIDE  !??

RADICAL plastic surgery there! Most impressive.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sort of an American Vickers Type C?

Yes , there are some similar designs made before, I try to make some inventions at the central tail end and the drive system . It would become a multi centre prop turbine system or something like that .   Today evening I will take the laptop and Corel Draw to work on the design , and also on the way to realise the thing in model reality with plastic

Next show will be in 6 weeks near Bielefeld / Germany  ,  that is my finish line for that project .

Another project still running is the music performance with Lady K. , we plan a live gig around July 2024  ,
that will take a lot of my time to work on .

Drastic is nice, thank you for that !!

😁

Wing bases are in place this evening .

Next step are the wings and everything inside the fuselage before both sides come together .
That means also the new front wheel should be done ,  i want to build it with wheels out, standing on display or Diorama .

some serious work there,  looking good so far
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Following....came across the same idea some years ago an the trick is in getting the wing not too far to the rear.

Anyway, it's looking good so far. Keep going!

Gondor

As your moveing the wings towards the rear of the fuselage perhaps the fuselage could also be deepened towards the rear, you would likely need the structural strength there anyway.

Dear Gondor , the last part of the fuselage should become in 4-5 turning sections to rotate with the props ,  so i keep it small and in round shape .  The section with the wings is realy strong , that looks very realistic to me   .

I have added some air intake on every wing , that will give the needed air for the pressurised transmission .

Thanks to my very old dad, he gifted me at Christmas with a nice collection of very old and fine files in top quality , some of them are 80 years old ( my grandfather was a high qualified metal worker  in germany  ) . It is such a pleasure to work with vintage tools like that !  I would not have done that so good with the modern stuff i used last year .

Glas parts must be fixed from the inside , and some of them are a miracle to me !!???

i may be preaching to the choir here, but please please please get some handles on the Tangs of those files ,  the memory of just hearing tales of the stab wound they can inflict if your unlucky is something id rather not have happen..

aside from that its looking impressive still.

Haha, i use them only for plastic , not very dangerous without full force like metal work...
My dad asked me the same this morning on the phone, but i prefer them naked, feels better for me to handle .
