Yeah, by about a factor of five!  :o

They're not as pretty as a Tyne either.

I also have a 1/72 Tu126 Moss.  Again, not for sale except for a share in your Unobtanium Mine, old friend.  I acquire it over 10 years ago as a Vacuform and have never built it.  The future perhaps?

What scale do you need? I mean the airfix vanguard is 1/144 just like the c-133. I could help you with 1/96 proteus & wings. I also have the c-133 aswell so could check how the fit is.

Oh, I could help you with an Airfix Vanguard aswell for 21 euro's.... that's about 18 pounds. Less than half the ebay Vanguard. Pls advice. I'm in Holland.

I just snatched one with a messed up box from 'strayan evil bay for $AU19 plus $AU11 postage.  That's about 15 quid in total.
Postage to the UK would have killed it as an option for Kit though.  And then there's the Excise Nazis...

Yes, 1/144 is the scale I need, and it's the ONLY scale the Airfix vanguard comes in, unlike their Concorde.

What would the postage be from the Netherlands please David?

I've been doing some research (looking at pictures on google) and it appears that while TAA and Ansett both flew the Viscount neither of them used the Vanguard.  Not yet anyway.

Very few airlines flew the Vanguard as it was designed specifically for BEA's requirements, and as usual they were out of line with most other airlines in the world. BEA and TCA were the only original buyers, and the other operators all flew hand-me-downs from those two.

I've recently discovered the "Vickers Vanjet",  a paper project that seems to fall between the Vanguard and the VC 10.. Further data here:-  https://www.key.aero/article/why-baby-vc10-never-flew

Hm, despite the fact that I buy most of their aviation related magazines Key Publications still expect me to pay to read their Net based articles.  :banghead:

Did you ever find your Vanguard, Kit?  Saw one for around £14 on the Models for Sale stand at the South Downs show, meant to tell you at the time.  May still be available online?

I did thanks Dave, can't remember where I got it from though. If it was from someone on here, thanks VERY much, and I apologise for forgetting you.

Its Tyne engines are now grafted onto the wings of my Roden C-133, and the C-133's T-40s are now on the Vanguard's wings, or will be eventually.  ;D
