Just had a rethink of the engine problem with the B-47, and Rolls Royce Avons, would fit with a bit of room to spare. So wiff backstory is now that the RAF wanted better engines, and told Boeing to keep their J-47's. ROLLS Royce produce a modified version of the Avon, non afterburning, and a slight power decrease for service longevity, but would still give a massive increase of thrust, to get the aircraft airborne. Dash speed being around 700 knots should be adiquate. During patrols and normal take offs, only the 4 engines were used, and all 6 for QRF and rapid intercept of targets. For a slow fuel conserving flight at altitude, the 2 outer engines can be used, and the inner 4 either switched off, or kept at tickover.
All pure techniwiff of course. ;D

The title of this thread is exactly why I have so many part built models

I try my best not to let that happen anymore, as before I would have a stack of part built stuff that would have something wrong with it that just put me off wanting to build it, and they would end up getting mixed in with unbuilt kits, and forgotten about, until I "find" them again and think to myself, did I buy it part built?? ;D

That can be fun, though - and your skills can have improved to the point where the thing that stalled it originally is no longer a problem.

I get around the problem for new ideas by using a Word document. The only thing is that I am now on page three of ideas with very few marked as completed. If the ideas are older than the list, I  might be lucky and find a note inside the box, maybe not though  :-\

I did that "note-in-the-box" routine fir a while but gave up when I realised I very rarely liked my old ideas anyway.

I use 3-ring binders with plastic pockets and photocopies/printouts/written notes for my various ideas.
Currently 12 and counting, for the various types of things I'm interested in...  :banghead:  :banghead: :banghead:

I have a started list on my phone I can access when I want or I should say, when it would make sense to. Rarely works out that way.

Unfortunately my skills are getting worse as I get older and various conditions deteriorate. No I'm not looking for sympathy, it's a fact and has to be dealt with.

I tend to feel sorry for me, and get on with it eventually  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's what a laptop is for, all my ideas/projects/craziness is filed on here.

And yes, I DO back it up!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Been having a battle with the bomb bay doors on this thing, as they don't want to fit flush or stay stuck. I have used plastic weld on them and PSR'd them as flat as I can but cant hide the fact that one corner wants to sink in, and wont stay put. Bugger.  :banghead:

When things like that happen to me I usually put a scrap piece of plastic on the inside of the area the door is supposed to be covering to stop the corner from sinking inside.

I am considering doing that, but it will need ripping the whole door back out. The way the landing gear bays and the bomb bay fit don't help either, as once you install the bomb bay thats it, not much room for adjustment.
