The Wooksta!

IIRC, the Shackleton was designed to carry a Grand Slam internally.  Certainly a Tallboy.

If I can find one in 72nd scale, that will do for me, unless I can make something similar.

Doesn't Colin Freightdog do one?

He sure does a Tallboy, I grafted one under my 'Time Warp' TSR2, and it's a 'click fit', I didn't need to glue it in.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Wooksta!

There's a Grand Slam conversion on eBay iirc. 3d printed too.

I might have an Airfix one somewhere, but it's very crude - the tailfins have the thickness of scale railway sleepers.

Cheers, I will look them up.
Just found the Grandslam conversion set. Not paying 20 notes for a plastic model bomb, as that is all I will be using.

If I can find the moulds, I can cast one when I get some resin?

I did yet more PSR to the fuselage last night and a very thin coat of sky grey. Then I noticed that the wings are not level, despite taking them off and shimming them, one is out again  :banghead:  :banghead:  it is only really noticable if you look very carefully, so do I just leave it or scrap the bloody thing. I have just got some post war Avro Lincoln decals to use on it too   Maybe I could just be careful how I photograph it. When it is on its landing gear, the wings look ok, but tge fuselage is leaning slightly.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'll pass on an Ashton fin when I do the Grand Slam.

Cheers Lee, much appreciated. I think that is going to be the way Fred, as I m not cutting the wing off again. :banghead:

I think I have one of those fins to hand - I made mould to make any future Tudors a bit easier - although it is a bit rough. Nothing that some filler primer and a lot of sanding won't cure.

Totally agree with Fred. It's always a problem that we are our own worst critics. Go the careful photography route
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Cheers Chris, I think the problem is, even though the parts are all Frog Shackleton and should in theory go together, they don't. You can't tell they are skew until after they are both attached either, as the wings fit butt up to the fuselage with no gaps. The next shackleton based project is going to be a helicopter
Thanks Lee, much appreciated.

Done a little bit to this, as I have been plastering the staircase, ceiling and front bedroom wall, so modelling has taken a back seat. PSR more times than is possibly funny just in one spot on the nose, as the AK putty I have is garbage and the pothole just would not fill up and flatten out properly. Propellers look ok in the colour I did them, and should go well with the final colour scheme. The whole thing is currently in Tamiya royal light grey, but the undersides will be a shade of blue, which I think is Tamiya mid blue .
