And that concludes the 2023 Whiffie Awards show.

As always we hope you enjoyed the show and give our congratulations to all of this year's winners.

A huge well done and pat on the back goes to all members who were nominated.

A special congratulation to Sandiego89 for winning three awards.

Finally a big thank you to you the members who nominated and voted. This year the number of voters was well in excess of the numbers in the last few years, in some categories reaching 50. It is good to see more and more people participating in the whiffies.

The Academy will send out a link to the winners to download their winner's certificates shortly.

The Academy hopes to see you all again for next year's 2025 Whiffie Awards.
Keep on nominating your favourite builds.
We are already looking forward to all the great models you will produce.

Keep on dreaming your builds and building your dreams!

Good night.

The Rat

Congratulations to everyone, another great year. I just have one complaint: I was removed from the premises after only 12 whiskies, at which point I donned a Godzilla costume and headed toward the dioramas. Your bouncers have no sense of humour!

Tom, thank you for another great event!  :drink:  :drink:
Congrats to all the winners and everyone else as well, excellent show! Everything was just fine... till i remembered there was a fountain at the entrance of the venue and decided to go front flipping my BMX into it AFTER my bottle of Licor Beirão was empty... Good thing i kept my helmet on the whole night...

See y'all next year!

What a great show! Thank you so much for putting this on, I know it is a lot of work.

Honored that the B-29 Washington and the Pegasus Roto-dyne were appreciated by the academy.  Thank you,

What an event, as usual, thanks to your efforts Tom.

Was it you who arranged the troup of dancing girls stretching all the way down that looooong corridor from the entrance hall? I suspect it was an attempt to minimise the number of us who actually REACHED the main hall, as some were definitely 'distracted'!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Many, many thanks indeed for organising this Tom

And very well done to all the nominees, let alone the winners

As Tom says it's also extremely satisfying to see more and more members contributing to the event

Thanks to everybody
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Who? Me?
If I had wanted less people in the hall I would have put shelves with kits in the corridor, not dancing girls.

That reminds me of an experience a number of years ago at the Dutch Nationals. An airbrush shop wanted to promote their airbrushes and brought a young lady to do a demo on body painting.
The lady with only a pair of minuscule panties on stood there and was being airbrushed. The vast majority of the people just walked past it, never giving her a second glance, focused on the sellers offering kits and the like.
Only one boy of around 15 or 16 stood there the whole time, literally open mouthed looking at the naked girl.
The lesson here: If you want to distract modellers, then naked women are of no use whatsoever  ;D  ;D
