Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.

Missile work

Backdating a pair of AIM-54 Phoenix to AIM-47 Falcons.  More rounded nose and extended chines on the Falcon.  Stock Phoenix in white for reference. 

AIM-4 Falcon, AIM-47 Falcons and AIR-2 Genies, just waiting for some pesky Badgers, Bears, & Bisons

Was actually going to go with the proposed folding fin B variant but they turned out poorly, so hacked them off and scratching up AIM-74A fins,

Main scheme going on

Gloss Air Defense Gray, with a few of subtle shade differences on the inboard ailerons and wing tips, and subdued "no-walk" lines.

first try with water based Mission Models paint (Aircraft Gloss Gray Federal Standard 16473 .  Straight from the bottle via my old Paashe airbrush. I like the paint brand.  Over-sprayed the black no walk lines to tone them down a bit.   

Flat black on the radome and anti glare on the nacelles.
