IME cracked or wrinkled transfers and other needs for sanding can sometimes lead to weathering...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I got lucky and managed to restore the decal to a point that i can live with it without some "concealment weathering" so, some light weathering will do for this one... ;)
And speaking of the Cobra, it's almost done, just have to spray a flat clear coat on everything, assemble the weapons and smaller bits, attach and paints navigation lights. The rotors will be the last parts to go on and then i can remove the canopy masks to call it done.

Well, this one's mostly done, just have to glue one small clear bit and paint a couple of lights and finally i'll remove the canopy masks and attach the main rotor as the last step of the build to prevent any accidents while removing the masks...
I'll have to set up a jig of some sort to hold the main rotor in position while the glue dries but shouldn't be too much of a hassle to get done properly.
I'm hoping that i can get that done today after work and then take some beauty shots to call it done.

Yesterday i got home too beat from work to sit at the bench so, after dinner i chose to watch a doc and fell asleep in the process... :banghead:
Got up at 4.30 a.m. and was feeling fresh so, had a late night/ early morning session and got the Cobra finished.
I'll try to set up the lights and background when i get home from work today for some pics of it alone and with the Huey and the Cayuse beside it

  .

So, another late night/early morning session to get some pics but as it was late and i didn't want to wake up my lady making noise around the house getting the other two choppers out of the cabinet so, i only got pics of the Cobra alone for today.
So, here's the PoAF's AH-1G Cobra...

So, i'm happy with this simple build, there's stuff i didn't like in the kit that fought me when finishing the kit but all in all, i enjoyed building it.
Hope you guys like it, it a simple whiff but i believe it represents what a PoAF Cobra could look like if they had been in service since the late 1970's.
The "Anti-radiation" green scheme was use on all combat aircraft since the later years of the Colonial Wars in Africa and was replaced when there was a big reorganization of all Portuguese armed forces after the end of the wars.
I'll post some family pics and backstory during the next weekend and call this one done and dusted.

Well, apart from a few Dust Devils, that is pretty-much perfect!

Excellent job, Rui, even if it did fight you most of the way!

Yeah, unfortunately even inside the canopy... I admit i didn't look the model over completely and also that the late night/early morning sessions have benefits but also have their drawbacks as the eyes take a bit to become fully awake at those hours... ;D
I'll look it over a bit better when i have more time.

You have every right to be happy;  you may describe it as simple,  I'd call it simply wonderful!

I really like the Cobra family and this one has pumped up the desire to build one of my AH-1Z Viper kits, i just have to choose which scale.
I have plans to give one of them a Fenestron tail rotor like i did with the AH-1W FNT and the other will probably become a PoAF bird but i haven't decided which kit to use for each project...

I've finished the photo sessions and will soon be posting the backstory and new pics of the Cayuse and the PoAF's Pink team family pics too.
