Well, i've just spent some time thinking about the story and i decided to keep it down to the general idea which goes something like this...

"After the end of the colonial wars in Africa, the Portuguese air Force went through a modernization effort and began acquiring new aircraft with the help of the Military Assistance Program.
When the time came to chose a light attack helicopter, the AH-1Q Cobra was the choice but the shortage of funds kept the choice reduced to a small variety and number of airframes for peace time operations.
In 1975, US officials came up with an offer of older airframes with a low number of flight hours that were being replaced in US Army cavarly units with more modern versions.
The Portuguese accepted the offer in 1976 and acquired several airframes of 3 different types, the UH-1C, the AH-1G and the OH-6A."

Here are the Cayuse's pics...

And that's it for this project, a PoAF "Pink Team"...   Hope i'm not disappointing anyone but i just don't have the time to write a long back story at the moment. Gotta go make snow for the kids at a local fair.  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

This was something of a test run, i wanna build a similar trio in 1/48 but it will be a bit more modern than the Vietnam era birds...

Thank you, Chris!
There's still one other chopper i'd like to add to this family, the OH-58A Kiowa. I have the 1/72 Italeri kit and i think it would be a nice addition to the family.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Apart from AH-64D stub wings and a full AM resin cockpit and in 35th scale it's not modded much at all ..I did reshape the rotor tips to upgrade this version a smeg ..the paint tho is where the best impression will be made..I hope 😆

Apache stub wings seem to go well on the cobra. I also used them on the one with the Fenestron tail rotor.
