Quote from: seadude on April 16, 2024, 11:51:30 AMNo, I'm not asking you to switch the group builds around. In the meantime, I'll do some more thinking. Maybe some other idea will come to mind.

OK, timing stays as it is then

I'm sorry, but the whole point of a GB is for people to take part at the same time and get some sense of shared involvement. If we just choose a subject and then say "build it in any three month period of your own choosing" then as far as I'm concerned we've dropped the whole essence of Group Builds. Plus it would be extremely difficult to moderate.

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Japanese built some interesting stuff to defend their secret Antarctic base.  Unfortunately it was destroyed when the base was nuked in '46.  All that remains are crude sketches, whispered rumours, and the fevered imagination of half-crazed whiffers.   ;)

And then there is the South Polar Icebreaker built by the shipbuilding arm of Farley Heavy Industries as part of the ill-fated Trans-Antarctic Flotilla.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

zenrat industries:  We're everywhere...for your convenience..

Oh, YES, I remember their surprise when the icebreaker crashed full-steam against the continent!  ;D
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Nope. Nobody. Like I said, I'll think of something else.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Chris mate I'm up for a bit more moderation
Bad Ideas or Polar..happy to help either way 😄
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Right gents

I've got the moderators now and I'll be in touch with people next week to start the process off.

It'll probably be towards the end of next week as I'm very busy at the moment with various things including the next edition of the UK Groups Newsletter, so forgive me if I seem to be a tad tardy.

Thanks for your patience

Chris

Having had two out-of-body experiences it's very peaceful up there in the waiting room. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Thanks a lot, Narses.
This year's GB promise to be interesting. I have already good ideas for the Bad Idea GB, but continue thinking about "bad ideas for arctic warfare", I think those 2 GB are made to be married...
What about bermuda winter camo uniforms ?  ;D
