I dare not use that other Australianism for a very small measurement then  :-X  that would get me cancelled  ;)
Would that be the unit of measure as designated by the width of a certain type of hair?

Not quite.. lets just say the late great Windsor Davies in his Battery Sergeant Major Williams role used the first part of the word quite frequently when talking to certain members of the Concert Party... add teenth to the end  ;D

This is on hiatus while I finish some other stuff.
Fuselage is done.  Wings are shortened and were being worked on.  More sanding needed (all those rivets).

Cockpit and pilots painted and canopy in place.
Well, maybe in place is a touch optimistic.  It's vaguely positioned in front of the crew at the nose of the aircraft.  There are large gaps and it is simultaneously both wider than the fuselage and too narrow.
To add sultanas to injury, when I stuck on the aftermarket canopy mask set (some eastern european make, can't remember the name) fit was again vague but also managed to be asymmetric (due to canopy or masks, i'm not sure).
Filler has been added in strategic (or should it be tactical - I get those two mixed up) places prior to some carefull rubbing down.
I have also begun modifying the rotörhead from four blades to three.

How can they have got the masks wrong?

The kit's been around since the dawn of time and the only other one is a different scale!!!!  :o

Lets drag this one kicking and screaming into the light.

...aieeeeeeeeeeee! bright light!

I'm building this one in separate subassemblies.  Fuselage is first.  It's now undercoated and is ready for paint.

After some pondering I decided to put the demarkation line on the fuselage where The Faireys intended it to go.  Then masked, and then sprayed the part of the fuselage below the line silver.

Ooooh look at that.  He's getting somewhere...

...which I am.  Mainly because I was starting to get worried that the masking had been on the fuselage windows a bit too long...

Thanks folks.
I'm hoping to cut down the kit transfer cheat lines to fit.

The fuselage is complete.  I had previously shortened the wings and sanded them smooth and today I sanded the rivets off the nacelles and glued them to the wings.  I have just realised I meant to scribe some flying surfaces into the wings before doing this.  It's still possible, just not as easy with the nacelles in the way.   :banghead:
While sanding the nacelles I realised there are ejector pin marks in obvious places on the outside and the nose of one of them is misshapen.  There is also flash.  Airfix really didn't bother to any remedial work on these moulds.  They seem to have just put them into production as they found them.
