Thanks for the kind words guys, very encouraging

A special mention to thank Mr Tamiya-san and his incredible masking tape!

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Hell yes, where would we be without it? Other suppliers may be available but none are as good in my experience.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

I've been trying to find out a bit more about this but can't seem to dig up any info - could you give any pointers, please?

Thanks,
Mark

Yep, I mentioned this in my first post, although the PR19 of CFE (PS893) was in standard day camouflage of dark green, dark sea grey, medium sea grey undersides

PS893 is currently with The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Seen here at RAF Binbrook  in 1963 with a Lightning F3 (XP885) of the 'Air Fighting Development Squadron'

The Hurricane however is a 'what if?' from my vivid imagination based on high visibility colours applied to 'target tug' aircraft since WWII

Thanks, Miko, that's interesting about the Spitfire - thanks for the extra info. I was expecting the real world Spit to have had a hi-viz scheme, too!

The Hurricane looks fab!

IIRC the Spitfire v Lightning flights were to figure out how the RAF's Lightnings, then based in Malaysia, could deal with the likely 'enemy' of the period, the Indonesian Air Force who were flying P-51s then.

Now that, right there, is what we call 'history.' Incredible photo showing the change in generations.
Last RAF Spitfire flight operation: April 1, 1954, photographic reconnaissance flight in Malaysia.
First operational Lightning: July 11, 1960. Barely 6 years later.

Would a Firesteak home properly on the exhausts of a Merlin powered P-51 though? Or would it be an all-guns engagement?

The latter could have been difficult as the Lighting F6s didn't normally carry the under-belly gun pack.

Alternatively a very close Mach 2 fly-by may well have thrown the Mustang into 'uncontrolled flight into terrain'.  ;)
