Well this is what I'm starting with. If I'm honest I've probably bitten off a bit more that I can chew for various reasons, but if I can give it a serious go then that will at least be some improvement on what I've achieved over the last few months  :-\  So in a way it's getting used in an attempt to get my enthusiasm up and running.

The plastic is a bit soft, although the detail is quite nice in places and there's a fair bit of flash which doesn't bother me , but it's the sprue attachment points that are going to be a pain to clean up  :banghead:

Finish ? It will use one of the options provided in the box.

Well as there was no football yesterday  :angel:  I managed to get the sub-assemblies assembled, major parts cleaned up and a little paint on the insides. Fit isn't bad, but the instructions are.........  :banghead:  Difficult to follow/understand in places and in one just plain wrong. Follow them and you'd end up with something Tophe would have been proud of  ;D Maybe I've allowed the current Airfix style ones to spoil me ?  :angel:

It's looking like a 2 week project if I'm honest, particularly as I'm out today and Thursday, but still I'm viewing it more as a Mojo stimulant rather than anything else, so we shall see.

Spent far to long detailing an interior that won't be seen, but that's life  :angel:  Now just have to fit the interior sub-assemblies, cockpit and undercarriage bays, and then hope the fuselage halves close ok. Where's the fingers crossed emoji when you need it ?  :rolleyes:

One possible issue to come is that unlike the Special Hobby 132 (a gorgeous kit) the engine "pod" isn't moulded separately and given where the wings fit, if there is a gap between the upper wing and fuselage it is going to be a pig to fix. There is hardly any room at all to work in. Still face that when and if I have to.

Just been informed I'm out Sunday, so as I'm not around tomorrow as well I'll be glad to get a complete airframe by Saturday evening. Still if I do then it means I'll only be a week late.  ;D

Managed to get a little bit more done than I expected yesterday  :thumbsup:

The main undercarriage bay went into the fuselage as though it was designed to, which of course it was  :angel:  :thumbsup:

The cockpit sub-assembly needed a little bit of help before it would fit, but nothing a little work with a sharp blade couldn't fix.

As for the nose wheel undercarriage bay/cockpit console ? It hasn't a hope in hell of fitting no matter what you do. So in the end I gave up and boxed the nose wheel bay in. You wouldn't see the console even if you did manage by some miracle to fit it. You probably have a choice of fitting the main cockpit sub-assembly, or part of it and the bay/console.

I then thought I'd test fit the fuselage halves, and I must admit I was surprised. They go together fairly well, certainly they enclose the interior sub-assemblies  :thumbsup: Yes there is some seam scapping/sanding needed, but not much and there are certainly no gaps. I've managed to get the two fuselage halves slightly out of alignment, but it's miniscule. The one downside for the purists is that the panel lines on the fuselage halves don't match up on the underside, but panel lines have never bothered me  :rolleyes:

One other oddity is that the Peewit canopy masks don't really fit, they are probably about 30% bigger than they need to be. Now this is rather odd as I've used lots of their masks in the past and they are as good as Eduard in my opinion. They can be used, but you need to trim them to size a tad  :unsure:  I'm certain this is not me, but I can't guarantee that.

Well that's it. I have an airframe, which I'm pleased with, but there will be no farther progress before the deadline for various reasons.

Still it's achieved the main goal I set myself which was to get the mojo up and running again  :thumbsup:

I'll move it Tuesday along with any others I'm requested to.

A little progress made as mentioned in my Blog. I now have a a complete fuselage/wings/tailplanes assemble and now need to start on the psr, which will take some time  :angel:

It has to be said however that the wings are a remarkably good fit, the tail plane less so. As said elsewhere it's a strange old mix.

PSR continues, or if I'm honest has resumed, but I must admit I'm reaching the point of diminishing returns and I'm near the point of going "sod it, no one will notice". Then the "goodie gremlin" in my brain will go "but you'll know it's there" whilst the bad one will go "but who else will ?". After they've got a good old internal tussle going on in my brain they'll go down the pub together and share a pint or two whilst muttering "job well done then"  :drink:  :angel:

This isn't a bad kit by any means it's just that some of the areas requiring psr are very difficult to get to. The engine pod is moulded along with the rest of the fuselage, not separate as the SH one is, and this makes the upper wing/fuselage joint really awkward to get to, and the lower one isn't much better. Still onwards and upwards as my old gym master used to say. Why I've no idea, but he did  :angel:
