Maybe a pale pink undercoat which helps when painting yellow could help ?

It would certainly make it deeper/richer.
Worth an experiment, methinks.

Ah, thanks for the suggestions guys but sadly I've already started so it will be on base white.

I will keep the advice I  mind for future builds and I will break with tradition in that I'll give you a sneeky peek of the results before I finish the model

As promised here's a sneeky peek of the colour scheme.

It's very bright and glossy but I'm hoping to dull it down with a couple of coats of matt varnish.









The underside is a bit patchy I'm hoping the varnish will level things out a bit.

Certainly looks like what I think of as Japanese Trainer Orange. 

You're also not going to lose it in a hurry... unless you put it beside/in a bowl of Pumpkin Soup... or a field of Nasturtiums...

Hi all.

Finally finished, once again a very gangly undercarriage, I had to allow at least a wheels height so that the prop clears the ground. The undercarriage looks a bit funny perhaps i should have angled the leading wheel forward a bit but it is what it is now.

Again I had a blast building this one,  it was very refreshing building both this and the Spitfire.

Excellent realization, love it. 
Yes, working through the nuts'n'bolts of a whiff and bringing them to life is always a relaxing and cheering exercise.
So much better than spending a million on wind tunnel tests and then being told I'd got it only almost right.

Gangly it may be, but it HAS to be unless it's going to get clipped prop blades on every flight. 

The colour is OUTSTANDING, both literally and figuratively, and is perfect for the job!

Absolutely love this ...super bright orange and with the decals now it seems even brighter..fugure ghat out 😆

Weirdly with the canopy it looks like it's going backwards and forwards at the same time 😁😁
