If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Well in a delightful touch, it turns out that a Meteor F.8 tailpipe fairing is the perfect diameter to replace the glazed tailcone on the cockpit pod, so we'll now have a Meteor intake on the fuselage and a Meteor exhaust on the pod!

I've also found and modified another ideal part, but I'm keeping shtum about that one for the moment.  ;)

When did I pass those Meteor bits over?  I have absolutely no memory of it at all.  Mind, I'll happily take any of the kit's leftovers.

It was ages ago, just after I floated my "Gloster's desperate three 'advanced' Meteors" idea. Since then, Special Hobby have produced Meteors that cover all the things I want and I've got them, so I don't need to struggle with Matchbox NF.11/12/14s any more. It wasn't a kit, it was a bag of random bits, including some vac-form and some resin which I presume was your own product. Happy for you to have it back if you want: I can give you an inventory of what's left if you want, but not tonight.

By leftovers, I was meaning the BV 141.

Oh I see. There won't be many, to be honest, but you're welcome to them. Probably, but not guaranteed:

Nose glazing
Open and closed tail cones
Interior fittings including guns
Original prop + spinner
Undercarriage
Engine cowling front and exhaust/flap disc
Bombs

Ten days ago I thought I had good time for my usual last-minute dash to the finish line.

However since then, the sale of my late Aunt's house has gone sideways, requiring much time spent on meeting and document searches. This week my boiler has died, which means I need to reshuffle the whole, overstuffed house like a tile puzzle with no missing tile in order to get the installers of the new one access to all the radiators, and Just to cap it all, my hedge has now grown to the point where it's interfering with my neighbours' satellite TV signal, and pruning it is a non-trivial exercise, given that it's on top of a wall next to a stupidly narrow footpath and a busy road.

My ability to deal with any and all of these is also compromised by my reduced health situation, which leaves me dog-tired and unable to keep my eyes open after much less exertion than previously.

I've asked for a two-week extension to the GB, but frankly, unless my luck changes, even that may not be enough. I'm not at all happy about this, ESPECIALLY for an in-memoriam GB, but I don't see that there's anything I can do about it. All this real-world stuff is my responsibility, and there's nobody I can pass any of it off to who is both capable of handling it and who isn't up to their neck in their own problems.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

You can always finish it when you are able. We've all been there at one time or another. If it's on time for the GB or not it will still be meaningful. I'm in the same boat.

Still aiming to get this done. Still not convinced I will.

Latest hiccup is finding out that the masking set I've got for the Gazelle cockpit (the only one currently on the market) is for the SA342M HOT-armed version with a missile sight on the roof, which means the roof glazings are different from the Plain one I've got... :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

(Not the manufacturer's fault: I didn't look/think hard enough when I bought it.)

Gettin' jiggy with it earlier today:

And for the Lego fanatics, here's the jig in all it's naked glory. If you think it looks overcomplicated, you're right: it was originally two jigs that got siamesed together, with one of them also having to be raised up significantly as well:

Still lots to do. Still not sure I'm going to make it.

Well that was outstanding...

I very, very cleverly designed the engine assembly so that I could spray-paint the cowling off the model, then add the various differently coloured bit to it afterwards so that I didn't have to do lots of fiddly masking. So then right at the end, I very, very cleverly got superglue on my fingers and put sticky fingerprints on the cowling, which meant I had to sand it down with all the bits on it, then do all the fiddly masking, then respray it... :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:
