Hello,

Just after finishing:
1/72 R2Y-S Keiun from Finemolds with dedicated PE set. Pilots are from White Stork Miniatures.
Painted with Mr.Hobby range and weathered with AMMO Mig washes and streaking.  Watercolor pencils were used to do some chipping. Type 99 Mark 2 cannons were used as a forward firing and Schräge Musik, mouted behind canopy.
Real pain was painting figures - that's why I've run away from 1/72 scale :)

That looks good.

I always find the type's highly framed, tall bubble canopy somewhat cartoonish, but you've done it well.
Whatever.

TomZ

Looks great. I really like the paint job

Oh that looks great mate..I really like this one 😀 😄
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Nice. Reminds me that I have got one in The Stash somewhere, too...

Is the engine right at the back? All the intakes and stuff are back there but it doesn't seem to have any exhausts.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You've done a great job on that

Got one in the stash and to be honest didn't realise how big it was.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks a lot, everyone :) Indeed it's big. Working on 1/72 Keiun is like on working on 1/48 Spitfire...

Two exhausts per side, right below intake on top of aircraft and in front of hinomarus on sides. Two engines were placed in the middle of airframe.

Good job mate.
You may not like 1/72 figures but you did them well.

Surely the Japanese didn't call them Schräge Musik?

Thanks :) Well, while searching for japanese name for Schräge Musik I found nothing, only that one Mitsubishi Zero with that type of armament was designated A6M5d-S.

Beat me to it.

Although that's just a literal translation of "Strange Music".  Probably not what they actually called a system of upward firing guns.
