You need to rectify the gaps in your education, then... ;D

Really, they are both worth your time.

If memory serves Calvin and Hobbes were in the Daily Express here in the UK ? Never ceased to make me smile, just so gentle and humerous

My favourite cartoons from the media ? The Farside, absolutely wonderous

Always had a calendar at work, wasn't aware you could still get them. Thanks for the heads up

Absolutely! They're reprinting them currently.
Not sure if they've cleaned up the plates, or if they're getting a bit 'muddy' or 'fuzzy', though.

I was also a Britannica reader ... Often going down cellulose rabbit holes for days ... But I enjoyed my cartoons, too.

Commando, Battle Picture Weekly & War Picture Library were staples. Asterix comics added the "comic" relief. A random selection of Ironman, Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider & Thor comics were mixed in there. Jolliffe's Outback books were a must-buy whenever they came out.

Then I'd read the newspaper comics - Ginger Meggs, Andy Capp, etc. - before doing the crosswords ... This was where I met Garfield, Calvin & Hobbs & Footrot Flats in later years.

Same as me when a teenager with the occasional Superman thrown in, although these would have been second hand imports from the US bought at specialist shops or in the market when I had suitable funds. Remember we are talking early/mid 60's  ;) . Earlier days would have been the Beano and the Eagle.

I will refraise oue thing i said Rick and Guy mates about not being a cartoon person.. reading no..watching is a whole different thing all together 😆
As for the comics side of things my pocket money went to models or tools or parts for my motorbikes...and with that side of things comics never really entered into my mind .
Oh and food 😋 🤗
The shop down the road from us used to make their own pics and id sell my sisters soul for another one of their steak and cheese or steak and mushroom pies but apparently you can sell it twice . :banghead:
