;D No, just the kit headlights with small bits of card to depict the blackout masks.
The effect probably comes from the slot they're glued onto showing through.

And thanks, fellas.

1/72 XP-40Q **Real World**

The last of the wartime Warhawk/Kittyhawk line.
A proposed variant to continue production; there was no appreciable advantage over the P-51 Mustang already in production, so it was not taken up and the P-40 line ended.

Post-WW2 the aircraft was privately entered in the 1948 air races but the engine failed at low level and when the pilot bailed out, the aircraft was destroyed.
I used a side profile in Squadron Signals' P-40 in Action as the inspiration and general configuration.

Standard Hasegawa 1/72 P-40 (short tail).
I cut down spine, extended the rear fuselage, reprofiled the chin intake and removed the upper air intake.
I clipped the wings and added underwing intakes, removed the inner guns accordingly.
P-47 canopy.
Heller P-39 propeller, Airfix P-51 front part of spinner, P-40 kit rear part of spinner.

Spraycan Tamiya Olive Drab & brushed unknown Neutral Gray.
Spares box markings, depicting a generic in-service aircraft.

That looks good

I've always found the P-40Q an attractive aircraft and built the Pegasus kit many years ago.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I do like that alot Rick...my fav version of the P-40  ;D
I am/was/still might build a high altitude version of that plane...ive got a Hobbyboss P-40 short tail in 48th with missing canopy which would make a good donour
Just have to keep it in the memory banks so I don't loose the idea
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Sounds like a Plan, Phill/
A good way to use something like that, should you not want a regular version or be able to find a replacement canopy.
