During the late 1930-ies Fokker created the surprising G-1. The design was special because of the use of double tail booms; also the hallmark of the fighter-cruiser. With its formidable armament of four or eight machine guns, the G-I became an outright sensation when it was presented at the 15th Aviation Salon in Paris in 1936. The French immediately nicknamed it Le faucheur (the reaper).

The design envisaged that the G.1 could carry 400 kg of bombs. But what if the G-1 was developed into a medium bomber? This is the Fokker G-5

Model is build out of a MPM Fokker G-1 I got real cheap as the fuselage was cracked beyond repair. The turret is taken from a Hampden, the nose section is the rear portion of a Wellington. Mid fuselage is from a Kawasaki Ki-48 Lily. Rear fuselage is the nose section from an Ilyushin Il-4. So, yeah rear section got swapped to the front and front to the rear.

Need to slim down the wing roots as much as possible (now 21 millimeters while the original G-1 fuselage was 17 millimeters) to keep the rear wing as is.

TREMENDOUS kitbashing there David!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Cool.   Might be a little nose-heavy with the impressive quadruple turret? Looking good, though.

Thanks Dizzy. Meanwhile the nose turret is a two gun affaire. Managed to snap some barrels off during psr. Will repair it with two better looking .303 barrels as replacements.

Meanwhile the most PSR-ing is done. Also grafted a glazing under the nose right after the turret in front as a bombaimers window. Had to fair in this window so created a teardrop shaped body under the belly (somehow reminds me of these small piggies with hanging bellies, don't know the correct type in English).

Tailplane is also put in place, engines and nacelles are replaced with Kora resin parts and some minor spots for PSR-ing are adressed.

After these pictures were taken I glued the wings to the fuselage... But as you see in these last two pictures the incidence between fuselage and wings is not correct ( booms needs to be supported at the rear to lessen the angle of the wing, Another try gave a better result so, it's corrected at this moment. Will post pictures soon for another update.

As the other Fokker project is just painted the correct colors are close at hand.. Masking will be a tedious and painstaking job...
