Quote from: Rheged on October 29, 2024, 11:52:51 AMUPDATE:  Given Madame Rheged's continuing improvement  rate after her hip replacement,  I'm delighted and somewhat relieved to announce that it looks as though I  WILL be able to attend on the Saturday, at least until mid afternoon.    Next year, as she will (I hope) be fully mobile again  I'll bring Bridget with me!

A little yin...

Quote from: Weaver on October 30, 2024, 06:20:53 AMGlad I said this: my cousin's stay at this end of the country has already been extended by one day due to illness at the other end, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it gets extended still further. Definitely not coming now I'm afraid. Not really upset since it's an expensive weekend and I've already spent WAY more than I should have done on kits this year, given my financial situation.

...a little yang.  :-\

Just wondering if anyones seen a definitive map/layout of the halls ? Was expecting one to be included in my IPMS Magazine that dropped through the letter box the other day, but it wasn't  :-\

It would be nice to have a rough idea of where I'm going before I get there.

They probably deliberately left the map out of the mags for all WhatIF SIG members.......................   ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Gondor

The IPMS website has a map, only thing is, they don't tell you which hall is to the left or right of each map of each hall so you have no idea which way is north or the equivalent of north  :banghead:

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Yeah, they're not in logical order. Hall 3 is on the left. Visitors enter the halls at the bottom left of this map. Hall 2 is to the right of this, and Hall 1 is to the right of 2. On the right side of Hall 1 next to the Aviation Bookshop is the entrance where people doing setup come in.

Thanks. Will certainly drop by to see what everyone's been up to, but probably won't have time to do much hanging around.
Cheers.

Right, everything packed, including models and tools to work on them. I'll have to hit up Hobbycraft in Telford for things I don't want to pack, like some paint, glue, and maybe a few other things, and work on the final product at the hotel and/or at the display table.

17:35 EST Monday November 4th I leave Toronto for Dublin, then on to Birmingham. Hopefully some good weather for birding in the area, maybe drop down to see 'me skin and blister' in Hereford. Still have to arrange car rental.
