The Edson was at the Intrepid museum until 2004, when it was returned to the Navy. Then it was decided to make her a museum ship again in 2012 !

Be aware  that HMS Victory is still a warship in commission, as I believe is USS Constitution.

and they recon we only raised the Mary Rose because we needed her for the Falklands punch up.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Well SOMETHING had to defend the 'Home Islands', everything else was 'Down South'!   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yup, can you even start to think how big her paying off pennant would be ? That's why she stays commissioned  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I saw it as well!

My pictures are bad though, as there from 3ds and vita. I have a video as well.

Nick

Back in May I went to Portsmouth for the day to visit the Diving Museum in Gosport. Looking across the Solent we saw lots of floaty things including Her Majesty's newest ship HMS Duncan preparing to enter harbour.

We think this was the Harbour Pilot being dropped off.

From the top of Southwick Hill we got a nice view of the harbour proper with about half the Royal Navy tied up near the Spinnaker tower. Too far to make out any hull numbers .
Type 23 frigate, Type 45 destroyer, 2 more Type 23s, another Type 45, HMS Illustrious.
There were two Type 42 destroyers awaiting disposal - one of either HMS Edinburgh, York, Manchester. Liverpool or Gloucester. Possibly another Type 42 outside the harbour or a visiting foreign warship.

Captain Canada

Cool shots Nick ! The 23s look tiny beside those 45s ! I was wanting to get that new Airfix kit, but am having trouble putting almost $100 on a kit I'll probably just fondle and put back on the shelf....... :banghead:
