...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Or to the king about said war canoe named in their grandmother's honor (Because I really don't see Chuck ascending to the throne any time soon)

Not quite as big as the shiny new Lizzie, but HMS Ocean was parked in the bay yesterday. Lovely day for the scary blokes in green hats to be messing about in boats. Couldn't get an ID on the minesweeper, though - too far away, not enough lens...

Typical a week late, was at Fort Nothe the previous Friday looking at Argus, a Wave class and an SSN which was a surprise for post RN Portland
Project Cancelled SIG Secretary, specialising in post war British RN warships, RN and RAF aircraft projects. Also USN and Russian warships

We get the Waves and Bays etc. in quite regularly, as well as T23s and Darings. I missed the T-boat as I was working, unfortunately. A colleague of mine who lives on Portland had a bit of a chuckle over the "safety advice" leaflet she got through the door, about what to do in the event of a nuclear accident....

My secretary's husband is Captain of RAF Mounts Bay, or she was my secretary before I retired anyway. He's a really good bloke and gave me a guided tour of RFA Fort Victoria some years ago when it was in Pompy for a refit after its first voyage!
