That sounds interesting!!

The grey is actually a water-based acrylic instead of the usual Testors enamels that I tend to work with.  It actually seems to be rather good at smoothing out the layered surface of a 3D-printed model like this, something that would require multiple layers of the enamel.  Besides I have a hard time finding a good grey enamel paint for my navy planes.  They aren't readily available in hobby stores in my area, and I usually have to pay ungodly amounts to ship them  :banghead:

Unfortunately the Bearcat has suffered damage to its propellers.  My coat caught it and dragged it off my workbench and into the floor as I passed by.  Now I have to take apart the entire nose and replace the props  :banghead:

:-\  That sucks, mate... Hopefully you can fix the damaged bits without too much trouble.
I've had that happen to a model or two because of a baggy robe that i wear around the house when it's cold...  I learned my lesson the last time it happened so now i roll the sleeves back to avoid the models from snagging a sleeve and being thrown off the bench or even avoid wearing baggy clothes at the bench.

Well unfortunately due to the way the nose was constructed I'm probably going to have to cut off the entire extended nose section to get those bloody props off, and then print new props and a couple of new shafts.  I may just go for a straight-up redesign of the old nose, make it look more like the front end of the engine nacelle on an E-3.
