Or had puffer jets on each corner? I bit like a Harrier's control system but turned through 90 degrees.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Feel free to build on that concept though. B-25s or Wellingtons for anti-sub/ASR missions.  You have kind of an idea that fits the parameters of the GB, run wild with it.

Quote from: perttime on October 18, 2024, 06:22:18 AMHmmm, what would it take for the situation to change so that Finland could take it back from Russia?

Are you sure you really want it back? Mordor will look like a clean place in comparison..

But speaking of Finnish forces - what are really the colours on the green MiG-21bis/Hawk T51s? Is it really a green and a brown?
Direct access to an ocean could have some benefits.

One builder of a Finnish Hawk Mk 51 listed the colours like this:
Light Bronze Green FS24151 (Xtracolor Interior green, nro X117)
Very Dark Drab FS24064 (Xtracolor Braunviolett, nro X210)
Light aircraft grey FS26440 (Xtracolor Light Gull Grey, nro X137)

MiG 21BIS colours varied a lot. One model builder says:
"original Soviet Union paint scheme. Colors of the scheme varied a lot. Upper sides darker colors varied between planes and depending on which batch the plane belonged. Color scale varied from red brown to almost black. Variation of the green color was slighter but over time it turned lighter and a little yellowish. Color changes of underside bluegrey was slighter. "

Thanks, Pertti. "Original Soviet paint scheme", eh? I suppose we could debate those hues for a few lifetimes..  ;D
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

With the Polar War, you'll be needing support aircraft. Whether they are maritime surveillance, AWACS, EW or tanker/cargo. I have a few ideas based around the Chinese copies of Soviet aircraft, some of them would have been captured or crashed/backengineered.

I do have a few ideas that are a bit off the wall......
Though several of my whiffs are already from 60N 😊

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

As the start date is approaching, I took advantage of cheap figures sets at a swap meet to get some that could be useful. Even if I am not sure of how I can fit the pope in a polar situation....
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Wonderful  ;D  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

As my interests are mostly railroad-oriented, I remember having seen loong-ago some pages of a french comics, the "Transperceneige" (snowpiercer).
It seems that even a movie and a TV-series have been done from it. Maybe I could get some inspiration, even if the story looks too absurd (farfelou) to me.

There's also Polar Express...particularly as the GB takes place over Yule.

Well the TV series does have Sean Bean in it... so there is that. I found it quite a reasonable watch.
Plus this is a great idea.. Polar could extend to a full earth Post Whatever Catastrophy
