They do look good, and the guy on the S American SIG stand was mentioning Dominican Bearcats and that they tried to buy Attackers ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Dominicans also tried to buy Spit 22s, but were offered reconditioned Seafire 17s instead.
Also, they tried for Meteor F.8s.
They got Vampires of various sorts.
What about Dominican Hunters?
:P
I think we can really "infiltrate" the South American SIG, with some "daft" ideas.
Bolivian Phantom? They DID try to buy Belgiums F-104Gs too.

When we were talking to the guy on sunday Rad he was quite interested in the group build, and more than interested in the fact that it had led to some research into the real world in order to eliminate the factual from our plans - nice bloke.

Yes, seemed OK.
I signed up for the SIG too, as I've a great interest in Latin American stuff anyway.

Sounds good.
There were a couple of Argentinian Spit IXs I believe, bought post-war by a civilian and then taken over by the AF.
Argentina was a major market for British aircraft, Lancasters, Meteors, etc..
There was no Meteor trainer at the time, so the pupil sat in the seat and the trainer guy sat behind him on the fuselage top (the rear canopy being removed) while they raced along the runway doing fast runs, etc.. to get the trainee "up to speed" before a solo flight. Sounds a lot of fun?

Krauts did the same sort of thing for the 262 pilots.

Wasn't it amazing how all the Mess. engineering drawings and many of their engineers ended up in Argintina... ;)  ;)
Getting back into modeling

Yeap.  Bearcats.

I did post that link a while back, around April 1st, but no one seemed to check it out...
