Work on this model is temporarily on hiatus until January sometime.
At my local model club meeting today, another modeler said he could get me the decals I needed to finish this model, but not until the next club meeting in January next year.
It sucks, but there's nothing I can do right now. :(
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Could be worse! ;)

You could be in at indeterminable limbo, waiting for what you need & not knowing when, or if, they'll become available. ;D

Just got a bunch of extra decals from another modeler at my local model club meeting today. So my model should hopefully be finished this weekend or the next few days.

I'm calling this done. Not much for new decals added to this model.
I based my model on the real Japanese F-2A and F-2B test and evaluation aircraft as far as color scheme and markings go. Those real aircraft didn't have much in the way of markings on them. The yellow RESCUE markings are below the canopy on the white underside of the model just like on the real F-2 aircraft. There is a refueling recepticle decal on the top of the model, though it might be hard to see in the pictures.

Excellent!! Nice work all around.
I think lots of air forces missed out when the F-16XL was dropped.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
