I have to admit being taken by this machine from the first time I saw it. I think it was Gengris' model ? I have had this old Matchbox kit in the stash forever. Not sure if I got it from one of you guys, from the swap meet I went to in Austin, TX, or maybe at Dean's in Owosso, MI ? But I have it. I think I was holding off building it as I love these old Matchbox kits.

Looking forward to seeing this C.C. I had the exact same kit, and built it as a mud moving version, in desert cam.

I used the Matchbox T55 for my very first VG lightning back in 1998(ish) I used a 2nd Matchbox Lightning (the F 2A / F 6) to provide the outer wing panels as I needed space in the inner panels for the relocated under carrage.
I always hope for the best.

Cheers guys. I want to mod the main gear as well, or gear well lol. I'm going with an F-16 type, to free up the wings. The Trump and Airfix kits already cut the wheel bay out for you lol

go for the gear off an A-7 or F-8. Its likely to be beefier than a Vipers main gear......hmmm thinking about this, I may just have to borrow this under carriage idea.....................

Ooh, that really is a good undercarriage idea.

F-16 u/c bay cross-section much closer to a Lightning's fat fuel tank than an A-7's/F-8's.  But OFL is correct to point out the A-7's landing gear - A-7's MTOW is slightly more than (but close to) the Lightning's - both being approx 50% more than the F-16's.

But this is of course whifworld.
