Something I resisted the temptation of was an Italeri 1/72nd XB-70 Valkyrie on the ModelsForSale stand: about £40 IIRC.

Very wise.  It's a horror to build and even more of a nightmare to store.  Done it once.  Never again.  Mine now resides in Canada with my cousin.

Yep - all of that. I vaguely remembered the horror stories and reflected on how much of a pain it'd be to take to shows.

A guy from Airfix Model World took a long look at the stand and was very interested in, and amused by, my Vogt 141NG. Took several pictures too, so fingers crossed...

It certainly would. Generally the various mags ignore Whiffs totally. :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
