I was always surprised they didn't use 'Halsey' as a name for a carrier.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Fuselage halves were warped so I had to glue them with CA begining with tail and radome, then spill a lot of CA in the middle of fuselage (while not glue my own fingers to it). Engine can be used only to keep exhausts movable. Top engine cover mustt be sanded to fit but no matter how well fuselage is glued , wings can't be fitted propely so there is 3mm leap between wing part and fuelage - putty all the way :)

Wing wheel struts have to be glued - making them movable is simply nightmare. Front strut needs to be glued too, also there is no damper so you need to put a piece of styrene to prevent if from folding up :)

These are most significant problems with this kit. There are more f.ex. inside of intakes but putty can fix it. Be prepared for a lot of sanding but keep in mind that this model has 50 years :)

Yikes, think I'll stick with 1/72, although I have done a few bad Harrier kits in that scale as well!  Thanks for the reply.  Great job.

Having first hand experience of building this bloody big and bloody terrible kit many decades ago this is with out doubt the best build I've ever seen.
Top marks matey    ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Wise decision. You can add to the issues already an almost total absence of detail in the cockpit and wheel wells. Even the wheel hubs are just plain plastic discs. There are no steady brackets on the pylons which, in this scale should have been included. There are so many stupid gimmicks included that it's more a plastic toy than a scale model. I wasn't impressed with it upon release especially as it compared very badly with the earlier 1/24 Hurricane, a kit which didn't sacrifice detail for gimmicks.

Definitely a lost opportunity. It can (as shown) be built into a good model. I've done it but, it took many hours of work and, a lot of scratch
building. To even get the wings to fit properly I had to remove the entire centre section from the lower wing part AND omit all the gubbins that goes on top of the engine.

I dunno - I built one of those many years ago - it ended up with full ordnance and the Sidewinders on top of the wings!  :)  I still have the pilot!  And, a 1/24 Harrier Mk III in the SSR (Strategic Styrene Reserve).  I'm saving that for my retirement.  :)
