Winkle's Wings

Upon his retirement from the Royal Navy in 1970, Captain Eric Melrose 'Winkle' Brown was still much in demand as a test pilot and advisor in many areas of aviation, and transport from place to place was problematic due to the vagaries of airline schedules. Accordingly, and in appreciation for his outstanding service, he was gifted the ownership and use of a Hawker Hunter T.7. Repainted with the name 'Winkle's Wings,' the saltire adorning the wings to honour his Scottish upbringing, and the distinctive registration of G-WINK, his travel was made much faster and easier. When he finally gave up flying, he donated the aircraft to the museum at RAF Cosford, where it still resides today.

This was done as part of a group build on the facebook page associated with the YouTube channel Gary's Stuff, run by Gary Evans. The Matchbox Hunter T.MK.7, also available with the single seat option for the FGA MK.9 Typical Matchbox trenches, questionable nose contours, extremely sparse interior, but also a damned quick and enjoyable build. Great for the first-time hobbyist or anyone who wants a mojo kickstart. Paints are all Tamiya acrylics, decals home-printed.

LOVE the reggie!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
