1/72nd resin cockpit set for the Sword Lightning T Mk.4/5 (£1.00!)

Well that was a nice surprise: went to put this set away in my Sword T.5 box and found there was an entire, unused Xtradecal T.4/T.5 set in there! Honestly don't remember, but I don't think I knew that when I bought it, because a) I normally take things like that out and put them in the decal stash, and b) parts of it's a small roundels sheet which was loose in the Sword instructions instead of in the Xtradecal bag, and I definitely wouldn't have let that stand.

The Wooksta!

There were actually some cheap AZ Spitfires, but having moved much of the Spitfire stash recently - and I still have a good chunk to move - I managed to resist buying them.  There were also some RS Ki 61 Tonys on the Models for Sale stand at a good price - the inline llowback being one - and they were very tempting, but then the voice in the back of my head asked "If it's so good, why have you done nothing with the Fine Moulds ones that have been sitting in the loft since 1997*?" and they remained on the shelf.

*And I know it was 1997 because they were bought at a show in Sunderland the day of St Dianna's funeral.

The Chaos

At our club meeting last Saturday a member gave me a bag of stuff he didn't want anymore. Inside was two boxes of the Minicraft/Hasegawa Skyhawk in the Blue Angels markings. So between the two boxes I think I have three complete models with choices of single seat or a two seater. Could make a nice display.

I've just been 'gifted' an 1/520 scale AMT USS Macon/Akron airship kit!    ;D

I'd never even SEEN one until today, and my mate Pete, whose had it since the 70s, said I could have it! I can at long last build a scene from my 'Forever Airborne' backstory about the post-WWII USN rigid airships and their tiny Convair F4Y-2 Petrel interceptors, but the Petrel model will need to be VERY small.  ;D

I've managed to buy a Triang Midland Blue Pullman coach, it comes with an untested power car. There was quite a few bids on eBay but I snagged it in the dying seconds. Got a set now and I can convert the power car bodyshell into another coach/observation car.

Gondor

Received today

1 x 1/72 Italeri 1425 F-35B Lightning II. I now have the full set of versions by them.

one solitary purchase from Sundays Bolton show. But its a big one.........

Dragon 1/72nd scale Saturn V / Apollo 11.
Ive been after one of these for years. But the asking price has always been a deal breaker. Untill last sunday.
This one was by current collectors prices very reasonable at a hundred quid. Ive seen them go for near on triple that on ebay before now.

If may get whiffed as Apollo 18.........

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.
