The trick would be to find one here - forget about the 'too expensive thing', the 'unobtanium thing' trumps* it...

I did look at some 72nd airliner prices...yeah I don't think so ...anything with 4 engines was over $120 nz and twin engined wasn't a hell of alot different.

As to the turbofan engines, why not use the ones from the Lockheed S-3 Viking? Two secondhand kits should do the trick .

Not a chance finding em here Mac ...it's like the hens teeth deal ..if ya found one it's very unlikely to find two but damn dude those might have worked..with mods of course

There was an idea I saw where someone suggested cutting an A-10 behind the wing, putting a pusher turboprop engine back there with a top-mounted radiator scoop and you have a nifty light attack job.
Lose the 30mm and substitute a brace of something similar but single-barreled and go hunting.

Something I still plan, as and when I can excavate my A-10...
