How about that Soviet mine clearing contraption with two huge wheels and a little tail wheel? I can't remember what it was called.
And the Germans had this thing.

Some other strange stuff in this article.

The explosive giant wheel the Allies tested for the invasion of Europe is right up there, the Panjandrum.  The Mythbusters even tried to build one.

Soooo many design attempts at hybrid warships were just wrong to begin with.  Ise and Hyuga will fit this build!

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Make it worse: make it air-launched...

Had a whole thread full of ideas on here somewhere when I first proposed this years ago.

Off the top of my head:

Low-wing Harrier: works a treat until you turn the nozzles downward...

Nuclear dive-bomber: good luck getting clear of the blast!

Nuclear-armed airship: ditto

Close air support glider: shoot up the enemy ground forces then land right on top of them, expecting, naturally, to be treated with the utmost civlity.

Ha - found my old thread:

Got some of the bits to do the Canal Defence Fighter now, but that's really a diorama build and I'm not sure I want to commit to that much work right now.

Stipa Caproni . The front view looks like a Tiger Moth emerging from its chrysalis   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stipa-Caproni
...
I wonder if the Stipa-Caproni was the first ducted fan (or at least ducted prop) aircraft ever?
Yep I believe that the Stipa-Caproni was the first aircraft to fly using what we'd call a ducked fan ..it's exactly what I've used in some of my RC ducked fan planes   ;D

That's the thing I was thinking of! IIRC it sank into some mud first time out.

Sure did ...I am not 100% certain but I think it stayed there until it was scrapped quite a few yrs later 🤔

I don't know what they were thinking but half the weight was on the comparatively tiny tail wheel. That's the part that went deep and stayed there.

What the original concept was ..was a mobile fortress ...could cross any trench ..have a great field of view for the gunners and the wheels would be very hard to destroy with gun fire ...what they didn't take into consideration was the fact It was a totally stupid idea 🙄
It would have stuck the moment it hit a muddy battlefield..the main wheels were to narrow in the first place..thankfully the back wheels were far worse and bogged it down ..literally 😆 🤣

The Great Panjandrum, as featured in 'Dad's Army' as well.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Combine two of the above - nuclear dive-bombing glider...

i've currently got a lot to finish off so i'm going to try to restrict myself to a single build for this GB (I am after all happy to build a bad idea at the drop of a hat anyway).  It might be a very small armoured vehicle with one large, or many smaller, guns.  Or a very small car with a very large engine.
