At 17 I thought it was a great idea to tune up my motorcycle and shed weight from it so it went faster.  My father disagreed claiming mudguards, air filters and mufflers were necessary items.

Which does illustrate that every bad idea started out with someone thinking it was a good one.  We should all try to remember that and show the thinking in our back stories.

yep the back story can show your thinking on why you think it was a bad idea

Then there was the Christmas Bullet. Fortunately it had nothing to do with the holiday.

Turns out it was nothing more than a con man's prop that crashed twice killing both pilots.

I remember watching a show with that POS in it ...the wings had nearly zero structural strength...those pilots had just as much chance of survival as those wings had of not snapping..none .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of!  ;D

Reactor and steam turbo-generators occupying the middle 2/3rd of the bus's length, control room with three techies over the driver to run it, driver and clippie in full silver radiation suits, and six passengers upstairs at the back behind four feet of lead shielding. Passengers get dosimeter badges with their tickets as they board and aren't allowed to get off until they've been checked by the clippie.

Don't forget the 10 or more axles it would need to support the weight ..there are load limits on English roads 😆

Simples, should be the work of only a week or so get one knocked together.  ;D

Honest, I'm really NOT trying to be a revolting pedant, but would a really good idea, such as a VTOL fighter  (a Harrier for instance)  but appallingly badly designed and executed (a Rockwell XFV-12  for example)  be appropriate/ acceptable in this build?

That sounds exactly right. One of my initial ideas is a low-winged Harrier...

Seeing as the Hobbycraft Vampire is a What-If right out of the box you'd be  ahead of the game.

Anything with flapping wings. Unless it's an actual bird or bug or bat.

Parasite fighters and their motherships.

Nuclear powered aircraft.

Hi,
Many years ago I had another bad idea that might be suitable for a build here.

It starts with the old adage that "An army marches on its stomach".  If that's true then it would make sense to me that maybe Special Forces might require a "special cuisine".  So I was thinking of why not forming a group called the "Culinary Combat Commandos".  In general I'd suspect that although the "Skillet and Whisk" shoulder patch may not be well known, those that do know would both fear and respect them as "soldiers that could whip you up a souffle just as easliy as they could whip you on the battlefield".

After looking around on the internet I found some suitable 3D files that I could print out for a build, though I may need to work with them a bit to make them more chef-like (perhaps by adding a chef hat or apron or something ).

Regards

Pat

Excellent!
I can see them in a movie with the Minions... either fighting them, or as Allies, well that's for the maker to decide.

Not so much a combat sortie as a combat sauté...
