Looks very nice. Far too good to waste on the truly horrible Airfix kit (even if you can find one)

Well that just leaves you with the legendary Merlin Kit for an injection model. Legendary for being unbuildable that is............then there is also the resin option. if you can find one.

The Airfix kit has its issues but is quite buildable once you work out it quirks. Ive built at least half a dozen since its first release. And I have around another dozen is the deep stash.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

No, think I'll still pass on that You obviously have more patience than I have.  I actually bought 6 of the Airfix 1/72 kits. I started two but, they gave me so much grief I only finished one. The other lingered unloved, unwanted and unfinished for two years until I broke it up for parts to be used on other projects. I sold the other 4 off. Modelling should NEVER be a chore. Yes, I have bad memories of the Merlin kit too. Only model I ever binned. However, the Airfix 1/72 TSR.2 was nearly the second. By contrast, I thought the 1/48 kit was a pleasant build

I've still got a couple of Airfix 1/72 ones, plus one of the Manga versions and a resin one too, so I might get one of those add-ons. They look pretty good, and I can try and remember what it was like sitting inside XR222 ages ago.

Mind you, it didn't have the ejection seat fitted then and I was sitting on a kitchen chair so it was  a bit roomier than in Mr. Beaumont's time.  ;D

I still couldn't see ANY of the airframe bar the windscreen hoop though, how ever they managed to taxi one I have NO idea, the whole aircraft is invisible from the pilot's position.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Airfix manga TSR2 is the standard kit with extra parts.  Cheaper and you have spares.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Oh sure, that's why I got them. It even has the RAF decals too.

Not QUITE sure what to do with the 'rocket' bits, or the crew either, but I'll think of something.  ;D

If you come up blank i'll take them off your hands.  The massive ZEL/RATO packs and the missile are very usefull and the anime proportioned female crew make a change from the usual men pilots.
