I will be using the Academy Hobby Model 1/24 Ford Capri motorised RS3100 kit for the conversion of the Caprise.
There was only 50 Ford Capri Mk1s converted into the convertible by three different British garages. The majority of these was done by Crayford although some of their cars were shipped to Germany in kit form minus the rear quarter windows. Abbot kept this in but only produced 9 before going into bankruptcy. Two were built with motorised roofs and painted white by Carbodies.

There are no records that show that the RS3100 was a convertible or Caprise as they were called hence the whiffery. The bodyshell on this model is smooth others in the past have been very course, I will be using some of my spare parts during the build.

Work has started on this build. The roof has been removed just leaving the windscreen pillars in place. I have filled in the gap between the drivers door and the passengers door with plastic card, 4mm gap between the the bodyshell and seat well. Headlights , taillights and rear spoilers. The wheels are in place. Just needs the dashboard, steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake. It's a lefthand drive vehicle.
