Just in case anybody doesn't see it on the Airfix products thread, Airfix are currently offering a FREE 1/72nd scale Meteor F.8/FR.9 if you spend over £50 on the website. I've just investigated, and it gets added automatically at checkout if your order is over £50 AFTER Airfix Club discount has been applied. However Hobby Rewards points do NOT count towards it: you still get the Meteor even if HR points take the order below £50.

Don't know how long the offer lasts for.

It's a nice kit as well. Came a little late for me, if they'd been doing it when I bought my Lysander I'd of added to the buy to get another one.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I wanted one when it was the club special edition kit, but I forgot for a while, then when I remembered, they were all sold out. I then realised that I could get what I wanted from the extensive collection of Meatbox kits I already have, because the Special Hobby T.7.5 has the recce nose in it.

That's the one I got.

Now that WOULD be a Whiff. A PR7.5, with two seats, a recce nose and an F8 tail.

I wonder if Gloster ever tried that, they tried every other possible option.

It occurs to me I've just described a short winged PR19.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

They kinda did - that's why it's in the box.

Apparently RAE Bedford had a T.7.5 with a PR.10 nose, but the camera ports were blanked off. Presumably it was being used to hold test equipment of some sort. It's one of the schemes in the Special Hobby box.

Hmm, somehow I doubt it.

I can't figure out a way to fit it into the PR19 backstory, like I managed to do with the civvie registered 'prototype'.
