You don't say?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Those long tubes were just, ahhh, spilled cargo! Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket!

Doesn't look like it worked too well on this occasion though.................:(

Follow the link and read the article.  It ended up like that not from enemy action but because of incompetence.
I know the photographer.  He told me that when he got there the weapons were visible (it's an AC-130).  He was chased away and when he got to come back they had never been there.

Oh I'm well aware that's not battle damage...battle damage has this habit of setting fire to things and the carnage this poor bird went through is too clean ..ripped and blown apart shows different results in the damage.
Not surprised your mate got told to bugger off ..very likely live ammo on board ...but also the techy stuff ..remove all weapons ..ammo and maybe some sensors..not sure about that part but the ammo definitely..105mm rds exploding will ruin everybody's day 😆

Cheers Rui 😊

More work on this today ...a bit more PSR..a wee alteration to this and abit of cutting to there and I'm happy with the results..you guys will see 👀 😀
I'm not saying much as I'm won't be totally happy until the PSR is done ..if I'm 100% happy then I'll speak up

The wings are on
The left wing went on without a hassle..glued ..reinforced to remove any chance of drooping..so far so good.
The right wing tho ...the mother humper wouldn't seat flat against the engine pod ..even tho the mounts are exactly the same either side ...I checked ..more than once  :banghead:
So I had to rip out the brass wire pins and redrill the 1mm holes to 2mm and them used some fiberglass rod and notched the back so the wing would move at the back for adjustment.
CA nailed it cause of the glue from left behind from the first attempt...now PSR has also taken place.
Tomorrow I'll probably sand it down and very likely PSR some more  ;D

Still needs lots of antennas.

Cheers guys 😁😁
Have you ever started a build with a vision in mind and it's turned out better than you thought?
This is one of those builds for me ..normally for me it's not the result at the end which my mind saw ..it's just not right or something just doesn't gell ..this one isn't one of those

Ken mate, those winglets were a last minute idea and damn they worked out well ..knew I'd have a use for a 1/144 scale mig 23 😊
Now ya mention it I knew something was missing..bloody aerials..this won't be fun ..pretty sure I don't have anything that small...48th is just to big ..maybe I've got really small 48th ones ..I shall investigate 🔎 😄

Just cut some from thin strip. I've used the PS food packages which is very thin.

Mate the antennas are going to be sorted..I found amongst the stash a plane I knew..well thought I had ...and have now found..a 72nd Hasegawa su27 ..it's a strange one and I think a mate gave it to when a brought a huge pile of kits of him couple of yrs back ...it's got 2 full sets of wheels..2 white metal front landing gear  and a lot of missiles ...which have given up some of the fins and when turned upside down..antennas 😆
