Spinners' recent wonderful Whiff of the 1930's Ikarus Ik-2 fighter, whiffed as the AW Elswick, inspired me to get a kit of the Ik-2, thanks Hobbes for linking it for me. Here's the kit's box, newly delivered to me today.

And here's the somewhat simple contents, but it's only a small aeroplane. The wings are all in one piece even, no port or starboard or upper or lower sections here, no, just one plastic slab!

That back dot down in the bottom right hand corner is the instrument panel, one of those sandwiched affairs that I never can get right. We'll see how this one works out.

And just to remind you what it's going to look like, here's one of Spinners' screenies of his original idea for the Elswick.

LOVE those wing markings.   I see lots of time designing decals in my future.

I'm not sure if the wing in the kit is 'gulled' enough to look like the Elsewick, but I'm sure I can bend it a bit, if need be.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It may be easier than assembling the mind boggling array of struts that hold the main wheels!  :o
