I stopped at a local hobby and craft store and they had models at 40% off. I bought a 1/32nd scale truck trailer for the wheel set. I'll use the box on some other project. I have to see if the wheels look right under the cut off truck bed. I'm going to spray some sand color paint soon.

There's bugger all difference in size Ken .
I checked the ones I'm going to use and even tho my truck is a big foot the 32nd scale wheels are quite small and these are standard truck and trailer sized tyres ya see on the real thing .
35th scale military issue wheels like your rig.. 30mm
32nd scale civilian truck tyres ...30.58mm

As long as the wheel rims don't look too fancy! It's like when government cars got four new tires and white walls was all they had. Had to turn the white walls to the inside.

Luckily truck rims are pretty much the same ..I have seen civilian truck wheels on military trucks ..they fit cause they used the same stud patten .
Course not all trucks used the same stud patten but in this case with your Slammer..they are  ;)

I've been working on some fiddly bits lately. I managed to drop a lifting lug that goes on the top corner of the front glasis plate. "No problem" I thought as there was another in the spares box. Do you think I could find that? Heck no! I'll carry on and see if it shows up. I wasted half the night looking for the stupid thing.
I figured out the veranda blocks the opening of the ramp on the back of the M113 hull. It will have to be glued shut. Right now I have it openable so I can mask it off when I paint the interior. Then I'll have to paint it OD green along with the inside of the other hatches.

Good progress though

I found the missing part! I dumped out the trash can I had deposited all the stuff I swept up looking for it and there it was. Now I don't have to rob another kit for it and pass the problem down the line.

Yeah, I've had to go through the rubbish bin on occasion... often when I've dumped something I didn't think I'd need... wrong.  Or cleaned up something I did need, along with the stuff I didn't...

I've had that problem many times over ..tie down points ..heavy lifting lugs ...one thing I do and am very careful about is checking my used sprues before there biffed out .
A mistake I made in the past and determined never to repeat .

I never throw parts away and even keep certain pieces of sprues. I've lengthened the air intake for this build and will reroute the exhaust with sprue. Those nice curves at the corners are useful.

I have the ongoing Ian McQue project where I've been using sprue for conduits on the side of the structures. So far so good.

Ive the same habits bud...sprues of different sizes are so handy and there shapes too.
Games workshop Warhammer sprues are brilliant..there trapezoid in shape and are great for framing for bullbars and the like and you can get em for free from any GW shop as those blokes are always building something 😀
Good corners .. oh I love getting a sprue with good corners..that little tankette beast..bloody large perfect corners on the sprues

I've been working on the veranda lately. I'm trying to build the ladder and rework the tailgate. I was going to have the ladder on the right side of the rear of the veranda with the tailgate remaining on the left two thirds. What I had cut off up to the third hinge just didn't look wide enough so I cut it off a little more and started to rebuild the hinge on the tailgate. Then I realized I was planning on stowing the spare tire on the left side so that the door had room to operate. Now I had to cut the tailgate again. Wasted time and not much accomplished. 🤬
