Lost count of how many times I've done that mate ...also when your half way thru building something and then come up with a better idea for the bloody thing your building  :banghead:

And the dilemma of whether to repair the original part and start again, or make a fresh start with a new part (and still have to repair the original part to use it for the build you've pirated the replacement part from... "Don't Ask, etc" :banghead: )

I found the spare part I spent an hour looking for. It looked like someone stepped on it. I straightened it out enough to be worth returning to the spares box.

I've made some good progress on the boarding ladder for the veranda. It actually slides up and down. I patterned it off a photo I found of a different style of gun truck. Photos to follow.

I keep building more pieces to this thing but I don't seem any closer to finishing!

I haven't even started the cupola. I'll be using an ACAV turret plus two gunners in the rear hatch.
Hatches will be open so I'll have to build out most of the interior. It just occurred to me that to rear gunners will need a platform to stand on. Shouldn't be too hard.

That's normally the case Ken ...ya start on one thing ..then another and so on...it get worse when ya keep thinking of other ideas which will look even better ..it starts a never seems to end build ...sometimes mate ..I tell ya  :banghead:

I need to make a silicone mold of the M113 floor and cast some diamond plate for the platform. Or take the easy way and use sheet plastic and spray it with the Rustoleum Terra Cotta texture spray paint. Then just paint it black. I have to remember no one will see all of this interior.

If I was building this for real mate then I'd just go with steel plate ..when it gets dirty and the surface scuffed it's got quite alot of grip even when it's wet ..if I could get my hands on it I'd go with industrial anti slip paint ...military spec stuff ..comes in tan..OD green and black
Take the second option bud..it's far easier and will still look bloody good 👍
