I've built the platform with anti slip coating and the silicone mold is still setting up from last night. I'll see which one looks better.

Good idea..I'd do ..fact that's exactly what I'm gonna do..it's simple ..bloody effective and it's pretty accurate to what would be done
Still no damn idea what to call this thing mate .
Not going to call it the Slammer ll ..it needs an original new name and I'll gladly steal somebody else's suggestion 😆
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Time for a photo dump!
The boarding ladder is complete. It even slides up and down.

We'll see if the sliding up and down still works after final painting. I bent the foot loop on the tail gate by accident but half the trucks I've ever seen had at least one bent so extra realism.
Did some interior painting and assembly. Looking pretty good. I searched some pics of M113 interiors and it seemed there were lots of color combinations depending on ownership and time period. This left me with an opportunity to use some paints I already had in the paint stash. It's much too clean and new looking right now. It needs some dry brushing wear and tear.

I stole a radio set from an Academy M151 TOW kit. It had two sets anyway and it only uses one or the other. It looks better here. I built a quick shelf and a place for jerry cans for water. Lots of space for ammunition and baggage.
IIRC one of the alternate names for the Slammer was "the Thing".

Eeee gads Ken ... the Slammer is looking brilliant mate 👌 👏 👍
Yep...far to clean bud ...needs a ton of crap if she's going into the field ...if not then it won't need it then   ;D
I could live quite happily with that name mate ..the thing .
What's the plans for your Slammer mate ?
As in is it going to be set in a apocalyptic world or some other story line 🤔.
Cause if it is going apocalyptic or semi apocalyptic I've an idea..teaming up sort of thing

Some seriously good styrene engineering on that ladder, I'm MOST impressed.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The story I'm going with is that higher ups saw the project that the Anniston Army Depot mechanics were building and liked it so much they insisted more be built ASAP. So a newer truck frame and more M113 parts started flowing their way. This is what one that might have hit the roads of Kuwait and Iraq could have looked like.
I still have to conjure up some guns and shields for the side gunners. Funny how the ladder came together after I decided to just make it simple.
Thanks for the compliments!
