I think I have that. I'll check later as we are babysitting today.
I was trying to finish this in time for the contest in Indianapolis, Indiana this Saturday but it's not going to happen. I better have it done in time for my club's show in October!

Plenty of time, then... but we all know how that can disappear...  :banghead:

You got that right. The kitbash GB at BTS site is done at the end of this month and the spousal unit and I are spending a week in Florida visiting some friends so that's model building time lost already. I better get cracking!

Interior is done. The cab area and chassis will be painted seperately. The hull and veranda will also be painted in two parts. Then final assembly. I'm also working on the guns. So far a Mk 19, a .50 cal and probably an M240. Plus a couple of M4/M16s.

The before shot.

And after. Time for some clever masking and hose on some sand.

Coming right along!

But don't you think that load-out is a bit woefully under-gunned??  ;)

I could replace one with a minigun....... Or a recoilless rifle. M113s in Vietnam did carry that.
I had a battalion commander tell me about how he thought the TOW optics should be mated to the 106mm recoilless rifle. Now that could reach out and touch someone! I had to say I agreed with him.

Just the one minigun?  ;)

Do you have a T-50 turret to hand?

I'm liking the load out mate..yet still room for z couple of M60s or M240s at that rear hatch ..ACAV style   ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Hehehehe, you armour guys spout out 'M number's like WWII Luftwaffe modellers talk RLM paint colours!  ;D

It's like a different language, but I guess the 'M's are all different guns, are they?

Pretty much, yeah. ;D

Either that or US tanks. ;)

In UK military parlance the M240 would be the L7A2 (a.k.a. FN MAG).

M240 as stated above,
M60 was replaced by the M240,
M2, ma duece, the timeless .50 cal,
Mk19, 40mm grenade launcher. Developed by the US Navy and all their guns start with a mark number.
M16 was developed into the M4 carbine. Just a shorter barrel and a collapsible stock.
M249 SAW was the squad automatic weapon. 5.56 cal like the M16 series.

Anyone feel free to add to or correct this.

Then there is the M1 rifle, the M1 carbine and the M1 Abrams tank.
The M2 .50 cal machine gun and the M2 version of the Bradley.
The M3 Stuart tank and the M3 version of the Bradley.
The M4 Sherman and the M4 carbine version of the M16 rifle.
M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage to go with the M16 rifle.
Confused yet? It only works if you already know what the other guy is talking about! The list goes on forever.

Oh no!

Why do they give the SAME number to a tank and a rifle?  :-\
