Just try fitting the guns to the models Ken and see which look the best ...it'll probably come back to ya which was going where and on what  ;D

Another day, another screw up. Too many things on my desk at one time and I managed to knock over the open glue bottle! I was fiddling around with the guns and the M240s got ruined. The two round hatches might be salvageable but I have a mold for that so I can just make new ones. The round hatch for the center turret will definitely have to be repainted. It's the back hatch in the M113 ramp that's the worst. I was going to have it open so that will hide a lot of the damage. I'll have to see what I can sand out. It could have been worse. The Slammer, Badger and Weasel were out of the way. Not only did it stink up the place but I had to clean it up with lacquer thinner which added to the smell. The spill was on the aluminum sheet I put down a couple months ago so that simplified clean up. It could have been worse but still a PITA!

Fortunately I've managed to save the back door. I'll just have to put new hinges on it but they kind of sucked anyway. I have to make one more drivers hatch. I had one extra from the first molding attempts so that will work. The center hatch was picky to clean up but ok now. I'm more ticked off about the waste of time.

Well at least the damage wasn't unsalvageable
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Mate you gotta make a holder for your glue ...I knocked over the Tamiya extra thin enough times and with it being so thin you loose half thr damn bottle ..or more  :banghead:

My first one was just hard polystyrene and it worked ..just took a 3in x 3in x 2in thick block..cut the guts out and bingo ..no more knocked over glue..the only real problem is the weight..needed to be heavier...so glued a piece of steel to it 😉
I've got a machined aluminum one now from Dspiae..dude its brilliant...very happy the carnage wasn't to serious.

Nothing worse than having to repair a model before it's actually finished!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This bottle is round so I could use some pipe or something. I have the large bottle of Tamiya airbrush cleaner to refill it with too. I like the brush so I'll look into that. Also keep stuff off the desk so I have room to work!

What is this "room to work" of which you speak?

I have an entire room for modelling but have almost no room to do modelling!

Got just the stuff for round bottles..it's this soft but very ridged foam packing material..you can cut this stuff clean as hell with a packing knife and it's very easy to cut too .
I use that for my microsol ...both of em in this one base and yep..used to knock these all the bloody time  :banghead:

Here's a quick pic of the damaged and salvaged parts.

Like I said, it could have been worse. I just got done painting the OD green.
In my strange observations thread you can see my solution to the spilling problem.

I have to do that so often I get confused if I don't, thinking that something's missing for several days until it clicks that I haven't actually broken anything this build.

There was a .50 cal and two M240 MGs I had to trash. But I found the M60 and another ma duece to use instead. I've managed to get some detail painting done.

Academy does make this machine guns set ..it's got M1919s and .50cals...it's a very nice set and damn cheap...the only real annoying thing is Academy always gets the tips of the 50cals barrels wrong and there far to thick .
The set does tho have alot of mounts and ammo cans ..ammo belts ..tripods and the short barreled M3 50cal machine guns.
The receivers for the 50cals are very nice with separate cocking handles and being that Academy supplies receivers without barrels too makes it easier to replace the barrels with more accurate ones 😀
