Towards the end of the war, German resources for camo paint were getting scarce, too. Apparently you could have tanks with hull in one scheme and turret in another. Or much simplified schemes with only 2 colours, instead of 3, or just earth tone stripes over primer.

Long fuel hose back to the base with a small pump truck in between?

Thank ya Frank mate and keep that fuel issue in mind ..im going to sort out the engine access problem too  ;D  ;)

No, no. That MUST stay UNresolved, it's a german project!  ;D

Like angled mounting frame, so the engine can slide up and out to the side of the gun. Fold down armour on the side to facilitate this.. no compromised protection there. ;D
All totally invisible in the build model, but your mind knows

Hmm, makes me think of another Bad Idea, an electric tank, but mains powered...................  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Frank ..no ..don't be ridiculous bud 🙄...my god ...bloody good idea tho 👌 🤣
It'd gonna frickin need it 😫
I'm going  ...well now gone with a certain type of aircraft I love ..twin-engined ones
Yep this now has two engines each powering one track coupled to its own gearbox ..what can go wrong with that  :-\

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Fuel is easy. Just have a crew laying railroad tracks behind this thing and have it towing a tank car. It's a great idea!
Have the vehicle restricted to moving only 3-4 km from the railroad siding where the tank car is parked......
Mount this gun on a flat car and have it tip over the first time it fires to the side......

I'm always amazed at the lengths the Germans in WW2 would go to build the bigger and bigger guns and tanks. They wasted so much time and resources on "wonder weapons" that it really hurt their war effort. And then they never really worked well anyway. They could have built a lot more Panthers and 88mm guns and maybe done better. Maybe not won the war but had a better showing at the end. Truly advanced stupidity.

Fuel trucks Ken....a convoy of em ..all lined up in a row to fuel this thing every mile ..oh and also to make it very easy for Aliied figther bombers to strafe the hell out of em 😆

It's the bigger is better principle mate..the dude we all hate was obsessed with ginormous killing machines and also because he was a total mental and everybody was scared of him he got his way .
We can be thankful in a way that he ran his military the way he did cause if there had been someone with skill and knowledge of how war works the Allies might have fighting way past 45 .
All ancient history now thankfully 😄

As for this build..it's getting there..added some tools and other details..tracks are on one side now..these tracks I do not like ..there ment to be workable but screw that..im not going to sit there for hr upon hr gently filing tracks just so they connect nicely..glued up solid but ill admit..they do fit very nicely 👌

Ah so that's where we Brits got the idea for the Operation Black Buck raids from ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
