I just remembered that I have a plastic ruler that measures in feet to 1/48 scale. So, digging that out and using my 1/72 scaled ruler, I find that you need 36" letters and numbers in 1/48.

They have the numbers, but no Vs or Ns. :(

Oddly the entire VN 8** series has got LOADS of blanked areas, bags of scope for Whiffing serials.

But in the meanwhile the Dalgety is almost complete, only missing its wheels and landing gear doors now. Plus a decent paintjob and some decals of course.  ;D

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

That sheet does have a lot of W's though, I'm sure it would be possible to turn some into V's and N's from them.

No, not just you, it looks very nice indeed, too good to be in this Group Build.

Isn't annoying how us lot are so good than even our bad ideas end up looking like good ones ...looks wise at least anyway 🤷

Hehehe, glad you think it's TOO good for a bad idea.  ;D

The landing gear was a bit of a PITA. I bought some SAC white metal legs, designed for the newer Airfix B(I)8 and PR9 Canberra's, but I also got a Reskit set of gear bays designed for the same kits. Now logic would say that even though this is an old Airfix B6 the SAC legs should fit the Reskit gear bays, right?

Wrong! They don't. :(

With a small drill and some scraping with my trusty scalpel they do fit now, albeit assisted with a substantial amount of gel superglue, but I can't figure out how the two add-ons ended up that way.  :-\

They came from the Academy Spitfire XIV kits too, I figured it would need some cooling for those hefty7 Griffons, why not the same system as worked on the Spitfire?

They needed a little filing to get them to sit correctly as the Spitfire had greater dihedral than a Canberra, and the ones on the inboard wing section didn't need any dihedral angling at all.

Kit, you're trying to apply logic to the aftermarket parts companies who probably don't talk to each other.  And in a perfect world they would.
