Quote from: PR19_Kit on March 12, 2025, 01:52:07 PMThanks for the offer Alastair, but when I went to order a Resikit set on the Big H's website they told me I already had one, and it'll be in my 'Jet's Bits' box when I can find it.  ;D

That's handy then Kit, saves the postage as well as the time for you to receive it.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on March 12, 2025, 01:52:07 PMHere's the wing with the lower rear part of the exhaust cut away (26 strokes of the scalpel on each side!  :o ) and the chopped off bits below.

And here it is with one of the chopped off bits re-positioned to act as the fairing, and a blanking plate glued into the gap where it was.

Isn't that going to cause a bit of an issue with the landing gear fairings, Kit? Or are you doing something else for the main wheels?

No, the main gears will still fit OK, specially if I can graft the Resikit wheel bays in as well. I'll need to cut a small notch on the inner side of the new fairing, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

You could say it has Griffon Mk.101 engines, all of the 100 series had the same 2-stage, 3-speed supercharger and the same power ratings. The 101 was the only member of the family with a single rotation propeller. It was used on Spiteful F.Mk.XVI (RB518) to test propeller designs:
"Rotol propellers with five blades of 18.25 inches in width, six blades 16.25 inch and eight blades of 11.5 inch width were suggested. The eight blade unit was assumed to be the better type."

How'd that work   I'm not sure I've ever had Hannants tell me I was ordering a duplicate ?

When you have an item in your shopping trolly that you have bought before, there is usually a note to say that you have bought it before. That is if you are signed in and not using their site as a guest.

That'd be even more impressive if they told you what you had done with it after it arrived.

It's not that good unfortunately. It simply says "You have bought this item before" or something like that, I can't remember exactly of the top of my head.

Yeah, what Alastair said. It'd be even better if there was a query box too, and then I could ask 'But where the hell IS it?'  ;D

OK. I must not have bought a duplicate from them before then ? Although I've loads of them in the stash

Thanks

Lots of styrene 'sculpture' needed around the engine nacelles, producing this 'patchwork quilt' look, and it's pretty much the same on the other side too.

Once that lot had set it needed a lot of filing before the inevitable PSR session, but getting a file into some of those gaps was pretty fiddly. If only some gawp hadn't glued the exhausts on it would have been much easier.......

And then the PSR of course.

It's going to need at least three PSR sessions I reckon, maybe more. :(
