Despite the ever-increasing shortages of fuel stocks, the Ministry of Science, Education and Culture desired to keep up an illusion of normalcy and ordered the outfitting of several Opel Omnibuses with steam generated engines fueled by inexpensive and available hypergolic C-Stoff and T-Stoff compounds.   The project was short lived.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

So were the driver, his passengers and some unlucky bystanders...

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Is short referring to time, distance travelled as one piece, or the amount left?

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

I think all three would apply. Dr. Von Braun was furious.

Yes, a short-lived Ministry project, you could say it was a "flash in the pan".......

I believe this is my first 1:35 scale model ever after 40+ years of modeling.  I did the ancient 1/32 Terracruiser/Mace launcher, but I rarely do vehicles, so wanted this as something outside my comfort zone, and not only is it a dad idea, but bad taste as well.....

Kit looks good, 2 different shades of plastic, believe a few variants of the kits were issued.

primer on, 1/72 Ryan Fireball for scale.  I am used to 1/72 level detail, yikes.

Where do the huge fuel tanks go? How about rocket engines in place of the tail lights?

From the T-Stoff wiki page:

QuoteBecause of its extreme oxidizing potential, T-Stoff was a very dangerous chemical to handle, so special rubberized suits were required when working with it, as it would react with most cloth, leather, or other combustible material and cause it to spontaneously combust. T-Stoff corroded iron and steel, and thus had to be kept in aluminium tanks. Conversely, C-Stoff ate through aluminium and had to be kept in glass or enamel. T-Stoff containers were white, C-Stoff containers were yellow. The tanker trucks carrying T-Stoff and C-Stoff, clearly marked "T" and "C" were forbidden to come within 800 meters of each other.
