Are there such glues even now?  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

For a long while now you've been able to glue Tamiyas tracks with ordinary plastic glue ...pretty sure the Brens tracks can be too..I know the Cromwells track can be and those 2 kits are pretty close together..I think..haven't had coffee yet this morning  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I once acquired some neoprene glue from a friendly cobbler.  It would stick most things to most other things, but it smelled foul and was very slow setting.

The old Airfix tank tracks were vinyl, weren't they?

I only ever built one, that was the Buffalo amphib., but even then I was Whiffing 'cos mine had a turret on it. Still got it somewhere....................

Tracks extended and painting started.  Brushing on SMS lacquer was successful although it dries super fast.  OK on tracks but you wouldn't want to brush paint a larger area.
As it dries so fast I also chipped the added track with metallic acrylic.  Rust and black wash tomorrow after which I am hopeful it will blend in with the rest.
You can still see the added portion in the pic.

Additional armour will be fitted to protect the two loaders who (the loaders seats having been removed from the gun mount) stand in the back.

This is completely bonkers yet beautiful! I don't see how it could move under its own power very far unless it was being towed (while under power).
