I'm surrounded my complete nuttas ...Jon being the worst at the moment. ..followed very closely by Ken in second 🤔 👀 😀

Of course now you terrors have me thinking of the design in my head and now im trying to think of the front jacks could be turned into a one piece unit so it could also be used as a ram or a dozer blade sort of deal ..just like the back one
Oh I hate you guys 🤣

It could be said that any size gun will fit on any size chassis. It then becomes a piece of work to decide which practicalities and laws of mechanics and/or physics you can do without.

I am keen to see how this might work out, but Phil, complete confidence in you pulling this off

The world is all calm & in its rightful order ... I was just thinking that Brian's BMP 100mm SP Gun could be improved by fitting a 152 mm gun M1935 (Br-2) or 152 mm howitzer-gun M1937 (ML-20).

One shot would crack that BMP right down the middle! At least it would be fun to watch! 😳😆

Definitely the 152 mm gun M1935 (Br-2)  ...weights a wee problem 😆
The BMP weights 13ton ..the gun in combat it's over 18ton ..will need a huge weight reduction but man I'm loving this bigtime
It's like a 2S7 Pion but in miniature  ;D  ;D  ;D

Yeah
Ain't that cool and bloody hilarious 🤣 😆

I did make a start on this today ...and it was slow going .
Turns out there's more missing than first thought..like no return rollers or rear idler wheels and of course the road wheels.
Now I have all these parts but not Panzer lll ..Panzer IV parts I've got...fact a heap of P4 parts so I used those on this .
I did remember I had these P4 white metal return rollers and of course they didn't fit ..so I made em fit by plugging the original mounts with 2mm plastic rod and redrilling the holes to 1.87mm ..now they fit a treat .
I also had to drill out the P4 road wheels to 3mm from 2.5mm so they'd fit the P3s axles ..total success there ...same deal with idler wheels ..an easy fix ..also it turns out Dragons magic tracks fit this old as the hills models drive sprockets perfectly 👌
So I've got one side done ..complete with tracks
Now the reason for doing all this is because since I had to custom fit so much parts to the suspension it would have been a real pain to sort all that later .
I've had a nice bit of luck with the gun and mantlet..looking at the pics of the wooden mock up it seems that the guys went with the mantlet from a King Tiger..if they didn't then they copied it so I'm going to use that too 👍 😀
Next it starts to get serious..upper hull  :o

I usually don't carve the jigsaw pieces to the shape I need unless it's the very last piece!

In this case I started with two different puzzles and had to make them into one ...so far I'm liking how this is looking 👌
I was thinking in a moment of madness of putting a remote turret on this but not a chance at this point ..there'll be zero space for it...at the mo anyway  ;)

Are you SURE that gun's big enough?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's damn near exactly the right lenght Kit 😆
I found some info about this thing today and I was dead right about one thing at least ..they did plan the use a King Tiger manlet on this
Score one for me at least .
This wooden mock up was built between 43/44 with planned production taking place later in 44,,early 45 .
Course that never happened and how it would have worked I don't know but I'm sure it would have been useless after a short period of time..

Well, the 8.8 cm PaK 43 and KwK 43 guns were developed from the failed Krupp 8.8 cm anti-aircraft guns (Rheinmetall won that contract).

So, what about anti-tank guns developed from the following;

10.5 cm Flak 38

12.8 cm FlaK 40

Although, I hasten to add, the latter did lead to the 12.8 cm Pak 44/80 & the 12.8 cm KwK 44 L55 (used in the Jagdtiger)

Guy mate ya bang on with ya info and I'm annoyed cause I used to have models of both of those guns and they went bye-bye and now far to expensive to replace  :banghead:

In my hunt for more info on the Stuggie I did find some interesting wiffy ideas based on the Panzer 3 and one I'm seriously thinking about...it's a Jagdpanzer lll with a L70 75mm Panther gun ..basically it's a German version of the British Archer which was built on a Valentine chassis with the gun mounted backwards.
As for the 105mm Flak 38 there was ideas of mounting it on a King Tiger chassis as a AAA system and the 12.8cm Flak 40 was mounted on railcars as a single gun carriage and I have seen 2 guns mounted on a railcar but I think they might be 88s .
