There seems to have been a bit of a thing in the 1950's to go back to small-paned framed canopies. A bit weird considering that blown canopies had been a thing from during WW2. 

Higher speeds and higher altitudes, maybe erring on the side of caution, until all the studies are done and experience gained.

How'd you go about the blown canopy for the FAW.2?

So of the two kits, one came with a resin canopy. I simply sanded and polished it until it looks as you see it.

All the info I've read suggests this was the case.
